Nakoto Ui is a proud woman. Luffy is a brave man. The two childhood friends are reunited, but under dire circumstances. Ui's crew has perished, and herself and Tamara are the only known survivors.
Luffy has always been there with his smiles that brighten the world. Those smiles are what made Ui fall for the boy. Can she ever get past this, or will she fall into a hole that even Luffy can't pull her from?
***This is actively being rewritten. The OG chapters are going to remain because I plan to replace them as I go so people can read (or reread) if they choose. I have not abandoned despite my absence, but rest assured this story is very dear to my heart and I will never let it go. I hope you enjoy! However, they didn't expect what was actually happening on this island as Luffy one-sidenly befriends a 14 year old girl who ends up joining them on their journey. "Well you know that this is where I grew up right?" Mirai asked Sanji and Usopp. "It's shocking to see that you grew up here," the cook replied. The hybrid laughed and said, "Yeah, since I grew up here, it's easier to have me being your guide on helping you all on avoiding the major things. Well...that is besides the snow monsters." "THE WHAT?! SNOW WHATS?!" Usopp exclaimed in terror. "Yeah, but with me knowing this place that is Drum Island, you'll be fine," Mirai shrugged, Luffy still enjoying the view ahead of them. "Do we really have to go to the place that might be filled with dangerous things?" Sanji asked with a sigh. "Yes. Because this place is my home," Mirai said. "And the only place where you can find my mentor and mistress." ------------------ I've written about humans before, but this is new to me. This is the first time I've written a full story about something related to an anime and manga series, and of course I had to kick it off with a new obsession of mine that is the global phenomenon known as One Piece. This was on my mind after watching the Drum Island retelling movie(bruh I bawled like a five year old), so here is a rewrite of the arc/season with my OP OC in the mix! When Nami falls ill, the Straw Hat pirates seek medical care for her on the icy coldness of Drum Island. It happens to be the very place where one of their members, sixteen year old Devil Fruit wielder Mirai Tatsumi, grew up after being casted out of her home village shortly after gaining her power to turn into a dragon hybrid. While on the island, the team meets Tony Tony Chopper, a reindeer doctor who happened to be Mirai's mentor and the only best friend she ever had long before she met Luffy. When the old king returns to claim what was rightfully his, the six pirates must band together to protect the land and its people. As a small warning, spoilers to Drum Island are in this story! '3D2Y' Since then, (Y/N) has been staying on Law's ship training under him in basic medical procedures to contribute more to her crew by helping Chopper. Plus, Rayleigh mentioning something along the lines of her ability is similar in a way. Still haunted by the memory of not being able to save Ace. (Y/N) vowed to get stronger. Strong enough to never see anyone she cares for die in front of her again. She already lost her family once, and she'll be damned if it were to happen twice. But that wasn't all (Y/N) did in those two years. She has also been searching for any information that could be relevant to the power she possesses. Hoping to reach closer to the many answers that plagued her mind.
