Light Between Oceans

"Ann, we're really doing this?" I asked, hoping for even a slight chance of turning back.

I felt unsettled with traveling, a lump in my throat. I always feared the ocean, it seemed like an angry man waiting to devour you into the realm of death. Sounds of aggressive waves echoed in my head and I shuddered fearfully.

Ann and I were leaving the country to visit her family as she did every year. This was my first time on a ship since my trauma. Both my parents died at sea a few years back. I was left with small amounts of money, and struggling to exist.
