It's the late 1850's, and the Rocky Mountain Gold Rush is going strong. There are many mining operations in search of the elusive metal, and one of these, sat in the southern reaches of the Colorado Rockies, is working hard to find some. They seem to be down on their luck, however. The group keeps losing members due to a series of unfortunate accidents. Some of them think there's more to it than just "bad luck," however. Perhaps these aren't just accidents, but instead a series of murders with an unknown person behind them.

A gruesome slaughter shocks The Wall. The whole city is frightened. No one feels safe anymore. Inspector Whitfield stated to this reporter, that "the situation is under control. There is no need for panic." Asked if he already got a lead, a possible suspect, he turns away. Who did this horrible deed? Suspicions and speculations make the round, none of which are to be repeated here as not to kindle false accusations...
