Ellalael is a world bound to the stars through light and magic. Its races are varied and gifted with unique magics of their own. Ruled by the mysterious and benevolent Starkites from their city that only appears at night under the stars, it is a peaceful and beautiful world. Six hundred years ago this all changed when an ancient foe and its Dark hordes invade, somehow banishing the stars from the sky and driving the remaining elves, dwarves, dragons, fey, giants, mer, and Atha'ir into hiding, their hope and magic depleted. Since then magic is weak and few of the races leave their hiding places during the day, let alone at night, which had been the best time to be awake because it was under the stars. Now something has happened. The power dynamic has shifted. Starlight has returned to Ellalael, carried within crystalline amulets and lending the power of the elemental Ithran to their unusual bearers: humans. Rylan and Lona are out for a morning run when they suddenly find themselves somewhere that is definitely not Earth. Adventure, full of danger and heroism, awaits them as they journey all across Ellalael, meeting the different races and learning why they were chosen to be the champions of the stars.
