I looked at the girl in front of me. Really looked at her for the first time. So beautiful and carefree to the world yet struggling alone to keep her demons at bay.
"I-i don't understand" I stuttered, silently begging her to talk to me. She looked at me and it was almost as though she just noticed my presence. Then she laughed. It was probably for a few seconds but it felt like it lasted forever. Even now, i it's almost like I can hear her laugh.
She wiped her eyes and that was when I noticed the tears that ran down her face.
" That's just it, Em. I have a time limit" her voice broke as she sank to her knees. "I'm dying. I have nothing- there's nothing I can do to slow it down, no one I love to care for me and a heart that will betray at any chance it gets".
She looked at me, fierce determination in her eyes.
"I'm not spending my last days being careful" she scoffed at the word 'careful' before continuing, "No. No, no, no. I'm going out with a bang and if I'm headed to hell, you can bet your sweet behind that I'm bringing those bastards with me. The more, the fucking merrier".
