It has been over a year since I suffered a concussion playing the sport that I love so much. At the age of 17, I received my first "real" injury from playing volleyball. After my symptoms failed to subside, I visited one of the newest doctors in town. I do not want to say that it was "love at first sight", however, it was definitely a crush at first sight. From the moment I laid eyes on him, the crush was essentially inevitable. At this point, you are probably wondering who my crush is. He is my family doctor and he is one of the most adorable men I have ever met. When anyone mentions doctor, some people just assume that it is someone really old. Dr. Khaki is older than me, yes, but he is not old in the sense of age. Joey is in his mid-30s and wears eye glasses better than any human I have ever come cross.
He is smart, intelligent, funny, awkward, intimidating, weird (but in a good way), caring, compassionate, and oh, did I already mention that he is super cute. All of the aforementioned descriptive details about Dr. Khaki were on full display during my concussion appointment. Fast forward to present time, over a year later. As if being my doctor and being a little older than me was not enough to assure me that this crush was completely unattainable, Dr. Khaki is happily married with three beautiful children. This crush has lasted well-beyond the brief and short period and I have plenty of reasons to essentially not have this crush. It begs the question, why do I still feel this way?
