As mother lay there sickness and death reeking off her body, I sat next to her saying soothing words. Her breaths wispy, each one a struggle. Eyes snapping open, revealing murky blurred eyes. Rasping out how she loved me, how she hoped I would forgive her for leaving me so early on in life. A small sad smile spread across my lips as these few words left them, "I will always love you to the moon and back mom. Tell dad hello from me."
Painfully slow she lifted her hand and caressed my cheek, "Thank you."
Her last breath leaving her body, a tear slid down my face as her arm fell from my face.
