The devils gave them military strength, vengeance, and the power to vanquish their enemies. And all the people had to do was provide a sacrifice – only one every 15 years.
And this time, it was Adelaide.
She had 18 years to prepare to die, and she was ready for it. She would climb onto the altar with her head held high, because she was doing a noble thing. But on January 12th, the altar is cracked by the most unlikely candidate – the girl who was sacrificed 15 years before her.
