Anne was normal.
Or rather, she was averagely normal. After a traumatic experience when she was ten, she is diagnosed with a case of OCD. A disorder that is was slowly taking over her life and her adoptive parent's lives.
So they sent her to a better place. A place where she could be better cared for and maybe get less stricken with fear. They took her to Sunnydale's Centre for Troubled Teens. 
A place where she would be normal.
A place where she could fit in.
A place where she wouldn't be a DORK.
