Athena Orchard has been ripped from her life in London, where she blended in with the population and had to prove nothing to noone to a tiny village called Mariena in southern California where your reputation is everything. She lived there when she was younger, but was bullied horrifically because of her dark clothes and rock music tastes. Now she is back, but is quickly 'saved' by one of the most popular girls in the village and given an 'extreme makeover'. But can she keep up false appearances when the boy she falls in love with is still besotted with her other side.
