To Be A Monster

A Human. That's what I am, or was. We now are an endangered species. I am commonly mistaken as an Overlander. The only difference being are our fingers. I have 5 while Overlanders have four. I was adopted by a Hedgehog family. Well, the mother adopted me. The father of the family barely notices me or talks to me. They already have a son named Sonic. The kids called him the Blue blur due to his insane speed. His speed made him popular. There was nothing special about me. I don't know why the woman wanted to adopt me. To increase her status? I don't know there's nothing special about me. Sonic saw me as his younger naive and less popular brother. I was ten with him being 12. While he saw me as a brother. I don't, well not anymore. For the first month I did. But, I started to get dislike him. Then, that dislike turned into jealously. And that jealousy turned into hatred. That hatred turned into suffering. I had no comfort for anybody. That was until I made a deal. But now, I have nothing.
