I'm Scarlett Mae. I'm 17 years old, and this is my story.

Scarlett Mae was born deaf. Being the only one in her family who can't hear is hard. Especially when all she's been around is people who can hear and can talk with no issue. All she wants to do is fit in, meet someone who is like her, but it seems impossible. Her dad, left them when Scarlett was 3 years old. Even at school, she is singled out, bullied and tormented, and there is nothing she can do. Her only friend, Emilee, is not in any of her classes. Just her luck right? It seems like she gets no relief. One day, while watching TV, she sees a contest for her favourite band, one direction and decides to enter.
