'Signy gasped as she saw the body on the ground. 'Asta, what did you do?' 'It was an accident,' Asta said desperately. 'The fire flared suddenly and his clothes caught alight. It wasn't me.' Signy stared at Hafgrim's charred body. 'They won't believe that,' she said fearfully. She looked up at Asta with terror. 'Asta, they'll kill you. You need to leave. Now.'' Asta has lived life as a thrall on a cold northern freehold since she was small, with no memory of her family or where she came from. When an accident forces her to run away from her freehold she decides to use the opportunity to find her own people. Her quest leads her to the King's fortress, Vatnskjold. A mysteriously ill king, a missing heir and a brewing war, Vatnskjold is a place of secrets. Despite her determination to focus only on her mission - and hide her own dark past and secrets - Asta finds herself being drawn in. Perhaps if she solves the secrets of Vatnskjold she can solve her own greatest mystery: who, and what, she is. Cover Art: Sai Ronchi (https://www.instagram.com/saironchi)

For thousands of years, the citizens of Asterria have lived at odds with the reclusive Clans who dwell within the Mountains of Donoa, and in recent times the tension has begun to erupt. An act of self defense which led to two lives lost spurred hostility on both sides, and a vindictive witch seeking revenge for the life of her slain kin invoked a dark curse upon Asterria's twin Princes. Now, two centuries past, Kyran and Konan Renhael have lived in fear of the manifestation of their curse as tensions continue to rise. The Clans have been lashing out with increasing aggression and most fear open attacks will soon follow, but as dark impulses and blooded bodies begin to follow in the Princes' wake, it is clear the Clans are not their only concern. In an effort to find a way to break the curse before it is too late, Kyran travels to a Clan village seeking the Matrons, the same circle of witches as the one who originally cursed him and his brother. There he meets the wild and cunning Ylva, one of the heads of the Matron order. Working his way into her good graces could get him closer to finding a way to break the curse, or ensnare him in a new one entirely. Either way, only one thing remains certain. Failure will leave Asterrians drowning in blood, and mark the dawn of another Dark Age. Warning: This book, while being a work of fiction, still deals with real and mature elements.
