****THIS IS A SEQUEL. To be able to follow this story, please read "Unravelling" first**** Lily has started into the new year with a mixture of confusion, curiosity, anticipation - and dread. Ever since her oldest brothers revealed some of the truth about their family's past, the 12-year-old soon-to-be-teenager is struggling to come to terms with all the new and partially heart-breaking information. For the first few months of the year, Lily has tried to stay true to her word and not dig any further into their past, at least not until Alex, her guardian, is willing to share more details with the younger kids. However, Lily's patience is slowly running out. So many things are occupying her mind. She is convinced that there is still a lot more to discover about her family, and she is not willing to wait much longer. What is their father's story and can she locate him? How did her sister die? When will she see Finn again? Why is Sean really moving back home? And what is the reason behind her brothers' weirdly secretive behavior? With the help from her friends and some of her siblings, Lily continues her journey of gradually unravelling her family's secrets. Will she be successful? Will the implications of her discoveries slowly dissolve her family or is she able to save these fragile relationships before it is too late? Join Lily once again as she juggles school, friends, family (meetings), the general challenges of growing-up, creepy stalkers, some tragedies and maybe even her first encounter with something akin to a crush in these rather eventful months of her life.

**Title: Shadows of VarDev High** **Description:** When 17-year-old Lily Prescott transfers to VarDev High, she's hoping for a fresh start away from the whispers and rumors that shadowed her at her previous school. But VarDev has its own dark secrets. A series of mysterious disappearances and murders of students has left the campus in a state of fear, and Lily quickly realizes that the killer may be closer than she thinks. Determined to unravel the truth and clear her own name, Lily teams up with three unlikely allies: Agnes, the school's fiercely intelligent but socially awkward outcast; Carmelo, a charming basketball star with a hidden past; and Damian, a brooding artist who sees more than he lets on. Together, they form a tight-knit group, each bringing their unique skills to the table as they dig deeper into the school's chilling history. As they investigate, they uncover a web of secrets that link the killer to the school's elite and confront their own demons in the process. With each clue, the tension escalates, and it becomes clear that the killer is watching them. In a race against time, Lily must confront her own reputation and face the chilling truth about the killer before they strike again. Can she find the courage to stand up for herself and help her new friends, or will the shadows of her past drag her down once more? In a world where trust is scarce and danger lurks in every corner, will Lily discover who the real monster is before it's too late?

Caroline loves her new friend Lily. They do almost everything together. But as time goes on, it becomes more and more apparent that Lily is not everything she seems to be. Where did Lily come from, what is she hiding, and what's the real reason for their intense friendship? For those of you who are already familiar with my writing, I should let you know that this short story is nothing like anything else I've written. I wrote it as a birthday gift for a ten-year-old girl. She devoured the whole thing in couple of hours and when she finished, she told me she loved it. This ten-year-old girl is very girly, she likes unicorns and rainbows and magical worlds, but she also likes Sci-Fi and scary, threatening bad guys. As a result, the genre of this book is quite niche, and it may not be appropriate for every ten-year-old. There are some confrontations I would categorise as "mild peril." Spoiler Alert: If you're a parent looking for something for a child of a similar age, there are two deaths in this book and so you may want to check it out first because I recognise every child is different. (The girl I wrote is for said they weren't graphic deaths, and she was fine with both in the context of the story.) Anyway, she asked me to put it out there for others to enjoy, so ... enjoy.
