Local 12 year old resident Beverly Marsh goes missing from her apartment at 11:05 p.m on a Saturday night. The clues leading to her disappearance are scrambled and have no connections whatsoever. A printed out picture of the Instagram logo, a bloody handprint on the window above the bathtub, an empty closet, ripped up outfits thrown across her room, dinner burning on the stove, a broken headband, doors carefully removed from their hinges, a backpack packed with the only outfit that hasn't been ripped up, random muddy footprints, hammers scattered around the hallway, a note reading 1 13114 31135 9142015 1325 815215 1 23119 201119147 1 21208, graham cracker crumbs leading from the bathroom to the front door, a hairbrush with a crumbled paper stuck to it with the letters H. M. N. S. O. S. E-M-E-R-G-E-N-C-Y written on it, and a note on the bathroom mirror 'To figure out my first note, talk to Richard Tozier who lives in the three story white house with grey trim, he'll be able to help you.' Obviously all of these are very important clues to where the kidnapper took her, but the police can't figure out how all of them are connected, so they bring in professionals from Hawkins, Indiana, and Riverdale New York, so now the detective team of 19 year olds have to figure out how everything is connected.
