Derren didn't want to live in the small City that he had lived in for the past 6 years. It wasn't like he wanted to move to his uncaring aunt's place when he was 11, his parents just dissapeared. And he didn't want to live in the other city, it was awful, mean, and hot: he hated it. So, when he started looking for a job after college, he wanted it to be up north. When he was 11 and younger, he remembered being in a town that snowed every year and didn't get over 85 in the summer. He wanted that. Kat opened her mouth to speak but stopped when his hand slid up from her leg, gliding up her stomach and stopping just below her breast. "Not even here?" He asked, following the curve of her breast with one finger, not touching, staying just below as he dragged it back and forth. "What about here?" He asked, sliding his hand down from her ribs to the bottom of her shorts then around to her butt, fingers nearly grazing it as he inched them up, under her pajamas. "I can say with certainty, never here," he said, lowering his other hand under the waistband of her shorts, touching the top of her underwear. "No, you've definitely never felt that before. I can hear your heart racing, I can feel your breathing, I can smell your body responding like it's never experienced these sensations before," he whispered, sliding a finger just underneath the band. She was simply trying to rehearse lines for an audition. (Look it up, guys) Then we have auras, which are these magical power source thingies from the heavens, or should I say the Realm of Spirits, which give the people of Cloudgate supernatural abilities. Except the auras are actually cursed, which messes with the human's powers, and now auras have become synonymous with curses and aura-having humans face heavy persecution. Skye Everson, the afformented chosen one protagonist, is one of these aura-havers, and she has ice powers. For a long time, she had idolized mages and wanted to hone her skills so she could become a mage herself. The problem? Aura magic is no longer legal. Fortunately for Skye, she gets kidnapped by a secret society that trains mages illegally, and may now have a chance to live out her dreams as an ice mage. But becoming a practiced magic user in this day and age may not be all its cracked up to be... (Age rating: 13+)

I stood before the house, while my friends were excited to do the exact opposite of what our parents told us to; I was not. I trusted my mother when she told us to never get close to this place. "You guys ready?" Diana said with joy in her voice, I stuttered. "No.." the fear in my voice was obvious, though no one seemed to care. Dan glanced at me and chuckled. "Really? It's just a house." "It's a haunted house." I said nervously. "Maybe we should trust our parents on this, they told us that it isn't safe for a reason." "You wimp." Diana joked, she wasn't serious; it was just to get me with them and of course she knew that it would work. "It's fine if you don't want to Luna." Lucas said, at least he was cool about it. "I-I'm not a wimp!" I stumbled on my words. "Yey!" Diana said happily and rushed toward me with her arms open. "I'll buy you McDonalds after this." I hugged her, even though I wasn't happy.
