There are too many wolves in these parts, and no people. Even as he watches and strains his eyes he sees the need to pour out as much speed as he and Howl can muster. There's a girl ahead surrounded by a pack of wolves, and she's about to be eaten. If they can only make it in time! But he and Howl are both already exhausted and wounded.
