Introspection: Poems by a Ruminator
When hardship is experienced, it is only human of us to think on the past. Sometimes though, we end up in a cycle of rumination, reliving events that cannot be changed; we become depressed in our memories. Writing can be therapeutic, so here is a collection of poetry exploring a range of sad and confronting memories. By sharing these poems, I hope to not only further my journey towards peace with the past but to connect with others out there who may be feeling the same way. In College, one drunken night awakens feelings in Alex, feelings that he never thought he'd have. He was straight after all. Years later, Dante helps Alex to cope after his fiancée's secret lover crashes their wedding. Their friendship grows and they slowly find their way to each other. Alex realizes that maybe he is more attracted to men than he thought and Dante realizes that he's always been in love with Alex. This is the story of how Alex and Dante found each other.
