Being an army brat is no fun, especially the moving part. At her third high school, Emmy's mom says they're done, it's time to settle. Emmy's new school, though, is like nothing she's ever encountered. The students are divided into North-Enders and South-Siders, and Emmy finds herself on the north side. I have been Numb my entire life... Elyse has lived in the Compound, a facility that houses children deemed Numb, almost her entire life and it's been mostly uneventful. But lately something is starting to cause her peers to become unstable, violent and even die at an alarming rate. When her best friend falls victim to what can only be described as a viral outbreak, Elyse decides to work together with a group of her fellow Numb to figure out why this is happening to them. They can't do it alone though, with the Numb being monitored closely 24/7 and having no access to the outside world, but there's a light in the dark for them in the form of a Warden named Jet who is sympathetic to what is happening in the Compound. Will they be able to find the reason behind the outbreak in time to stop it from spreading throughout the entire Compound or will the task prove to be something that is just out of their reach? {A/N: This is the 3rd draft of this story.
