This is a sequel to A Surprise and A Betrayal. If you haven't read that story go check it out first. Because it's a sequel, you won't understand most of the things happening here if you haven't read A Surprise and A Betrayal first. The Angel Raziel punished Clary for creating another rune after she was forbidden to do so. In order to kill her brother, Jonathan, and save the world from his wrath, she had to create a rune. The punishment was that she would lose all her memories of the Shadow World, of her family and friends, but most of all, of her Jace. When she said goodbye to her brother in Toronto and laid him to rest, her first rune disappears, her angelic rune. She does not tell anyone because it is Alec's wedding and she does not want to ruin it. At the reception, Jace takes Clary to the dance floor and starts with a speech that sounds like he is ready to propose to Clary, so she interrupts him by telling him how much she loves him, and after she passionately kisses him, says she needs to get air and leaves him standing on the dance floor. Jace stands there looking at her, feeling that something is off with Clary, and says "I love you too." after her. He decides to look in their room for her and finds a letter telling him of the punishment that the angels gave her, and that she would no longer have her memories of him, but that she would always love him. He falls to the floor and screams out because he has lost her again. He vows that he will love her from afar and will always protect her. What happens when and If Clary regains her memories? What happens when Jace makes a discovery that will forever change Jace and Clary's lives? Jace will have the biggest decision of his life to make. What will he decide? Snowflake, the writer and the vet
Alec is studying to be a lawyer at university at his father's insistence, but he wants to be a vet. He loves animals and reading. His father abuses him. He secretly helps Ragnor, a nearby vet. Here he meets Magnus, a writer who also has his own demons, and their adventure begins Completed NOTE: a year later: (My English has improved, and I hope my writing has too) So that was the first one. I would write it differently today. Nevertheless I'll leave it as I wrote it then. A bit clumsy, a bit inexperienced. Because I remember how much I wanted this. This was the point where my mental healing began. That's where I realised that by writing Malec stories, I was not only giving myself, but also the rest of the community, a refuge from the anxieties of everyday life. However, I plan to re- write it again because the story excites me and I wonder how I would do it with my current knowledge. If that happens, the original will still be here. Luan Raziel Fairchild. Clary's two minute older transgender brother, a perfect mixture of his father and mother. What would happen if Magnus managed to convince Jocelyn that Luan should keep his memories? What if Luan found Jonathan before he could hurt anyone? What if Luan was able to fully heal Jonathan? What if Lilith used the twinning rune on Luan and Jonathan before the events of The Mortal Instruments? What if, after a game of chase through the woods, Jonathan opened up to his little brother telling him about his own life? What if Luan had a small amount of Lilith's blood in him, which, when combined with Ithuriel's blood, enhanced the power of certain runes, such as the iratze. What if this allowed Luan to essentially remove majority of Lilith's blood from Jonathan? How would the story have played out then? Warning: this will have slight hints of brotherxftmbrother. You have been warned. I am also going to start referring to Jonthan as Jonathan Fairchild, not Jonathan Morgenstern. I feel like it will be a better representation of his change.
