Magic belongs to the royal bloodlines. The people of the kingdom Inyairele have never seen the royal princess before, but rumors float around towns that she was born powerless. How could that be possible? Every person of royal descent, even children produced from infidelity, had some glimpse of magic. Yet, not once in my sixteen years had I exhibited any signs of possessing a magic ability. I'd never left the castle, as to hide my identity. Only the castle servants had seen my face. Any normal person of Inyairele would assume I resembled my mother or father. But I don't.

An arranged marriage. A deal struck between a new King and Queen. Lies and acts to prove their reign to power hungry nobles. And a gravitational pull towards one another that neither can nor want to stop. Alessia: I left everything behind. My home, my brothers, and the boy I loved who was going to take me away from my father's control. However, all that changed the second my father shipped me off to France to marry their new and young King Darian. It's clear he carries the wait of his family on his shoulders. I know our marriage is a sham to appease his court and I am nothing but a pawn always being shifted around my father's game. But what my father doesn't realize is that he made a Queen in his deal. And I'll be damned if I fall for a king who may never love me back. Darian: I wanted nothing to do with this arranged marriage. But from the moment I saw her everything changed. In exchange for promising to never send her home at her request I got her to agree to playing the part of the happy married couple to appease the nobles trying to take my family's power. However, once I start falling for my beautiful and strange wife who can wield a bow better than anyone I know and never fails to surprise me I know things are about to get a lot more complicated. And I'm starting to regret ever making this a fake marriage in the first place.
