It's been almost a century since nuclear Armageddon destroyed civilization on planet Earth, leaving death and destruction in its wake. Earth was deemed uninhabitable, presumably killing everything left residing on it.
The only survivors known in existence are the civilians dwelling in 12 international space stations linked in obit known as the Ark. It's a thriving community with great potential, but resources quickly dwindle to a dangerously low level, leaving them to make a hasty decision that could very well alter their lives forever. In what way, has yet to be determined.
Desperate and out of any other viable options, the Ark's leaders force 100 adolescent prisoners down to Earth to test its habitability and see if there's a future for the human race on it. With luck on their side, they're amazed to find that it is indeed survivable, but they're in for a world of trouble, as well as never ending drama and adventure upon arrival.
Not long after landing, The 100 dig up a secret that the Ark leaders intended to keep buried. Not only that, but they soon discover that there's already other survivors residing on the planet. Grounders.
With unpromising elements and unlikely alliances forged amongst very different kinds of people, one girl will prove to be useful in the anarchy that's about to unravel.
Love, chaos, danger, betrayal, and heartbreak. What more could possibly happen?
