(This is lightly based off the tv show Shadowhunters, and the Mortal Instrument series. There are some similarities, but I am following my own story path and hope you give it a chance.)

Harry is an immortal warlock. He knows all there is to know, seen the world he helped create and later helped tear down. He's known the richest of men, and the poorest of people. He's seen wars bloodier than you can imagine, and has taken more life's than he can count. But still held within the confines of his rib cage, set a golden heart, thumping away and refusing to become tainted by the world.

Louis Tomlinson could see that, even as a simple mortal. But maybe there's more to the story than just immortal and Mortals? Maybe we shouldn't focus on the death that is bound to happen, but rather the life they both try to live.

In this, people fall in love.

It's just, maybe ones more in love with life than he lets on to be? And maybe one is scared of giving up his fantasy and facing reality.

--

Everybody was so focused on the flashing lights, the thumping music people timed with their grinds against their partners, that they didn't see him. He was dressed in a black suit, light catching it and making the suit sparkle, appearing as if hundreds of shards of glass clung to the material. His brown curls hung around his shoulders, the flower crown I'd last seen missing. He was looking for someone, or something, and when I moved around a swaying body, green eyes found mine.

I'd been spotted.

And thank god, because I was tired of searching.

The only problem is that a local werewolf has decided she's his mate. With the struggles of falling in love and discovering things about herself she didn't know, she also gets thrown in the middle of a fued between the hunters and the hunted. ***** He finally made eye contact and I couldn't tell what he was thinking, or how he was feeling at that moment. He had me shut out. "Dad won't let her in the pack." "I know." "Are you sure she's human?" I rub my eyes again, they were really beginning to burn. "Yes, unless I've gone absolutely insane." I stopped rubbing my eyes for a moment. "Maybe I am crazy? I feel like it." Caden sighed, "That's the mate bond. The longer you go without, the worse you get." I knew that. I didn't like to think about it, but we all grew up hearing about it. Going crazy, your body shutting down. Wolves weren't meant to be separated from their Soulmates. It physically and mentally drained them until they just one day gave up. I never thought it would happen to me since it doesn't ever actually happen. We all knew better. Unfortunately my human mate did not. Caden watched me from where he sat, he knew what I was thinking, and was thinking the same himself. We didn't know how much time I had. "Well, I for one, as Alpha, would not mind a human in our midst if she is your mate." I let a small chuckle slip out and leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms. "Is it because you're so accepting of humans, or because you insist on having me as your Beta?" Caden smirked at me, "Does it matter?"

"Do you remember calling me 'mate?'" he asked softly, pushing her wild curls away from her face. She blushed deeply, but he wouldn't let her look away. "You heard that?" He nodded with a smile. "It was the first thought she ever shared with me." Skylar pursed her lips. "She likes you very much." "What about you?" he teased gently. "How do you feel about me?" She set her jaw and once again managed to look down her nose at him while staring up at him. "Well... well, I'm rather fond of you, Orion." He let out a relieved laugh and pulled her into his chest again. "What a relief. I was worried it was just me." He nuzzled her temple, inhaling deeply, his dragon fully at peace. The words "I love you" were right on the tip of his tongue, but he knew it was too soon for that. He would have to hold them in just a little while longer. "I'm fond of you, too," he whispered in her ear. <><><><><><><><> Skylar lived her life in fear. Fear of exposure, fear of herself, and fear of her future. CAUTION CONTAINS MATURE CONTENT. "Say it, Allison," he said, his voice low as he trapped me against the rough wall. A shiver ran down my spine, his voice pulling at me, the power in it making me want to do anything he asked. I shook my head, afraid my voice might betray me. His teeth lightly grazed my neck causing a sigh to get past my lips. I could feel him smile against my skin. He knew he was going to get what he wanted one way or another. I tried to slip away, but he grabbed my wrists, pinning them down tightly. He pressed his hard body against me. I was aware of every inch of him that was touching me. "Don't think you can just leave. We're not done yet." My stomach tightened at his words, the desire inside burning for him. My damn body at war with my mind yet again. He slid his hand up to the edge of my shorts, slowly working it's way up as his mouth trailed small nips from my neck to my collar bone and lower, stopping only when he reached the fabric. I could feel my resolve weakening as his hand reached its destination. "Say it," he demanded. I moaned, my head tipping back as he moved expertly. I wanted to say it then, I really did. But if I said the words, there was no going back. ***************** Allison Cole has just turned seventeen. Most girls would be excited, but she doesn't see it as anything special. She can now find her mate, wherever he is. But she doesn't put much stock in mates or true love. How could something like that be predetermined? Things only go from bad to worse when on that very day she discovers who her mate actually is. Will Allison be able to overcome her bleak thoughts about mates and accept hers? Or is the man bad enough to make her run away? Caught between her body, her mind, and what's best for her pack. Allison must make her decision. Is it worth it?

Ok, this is pure fanfiction. If I tried to write an actual book with all these characters, I would get a copyright strike so bad that I would be blasted across the other side of the world and lose my writing ability forever. So, do not, in any way, think I'm trying to pass off some of Hollywood's most iconic movies and TV shows as my own. Because I'm not... XP. Anyway, I made this story up a LONG time ago, when I was about six or seven. I liked playing in the backyard and imagining I could go to other places. My second oldest sister at the time was obsessed with Nancy Drew. She read all the books, watched the movie with Emma Roberts like a thousand times, and played all the PC games. I guess that's where it began for me because pretty soon I was obsessed, too, and that's when the idea of my "Nancy Drew" game hit me. I liked Nancy's character, but I'd always wondered what she was like as a kid. So, I made up a game where Nancy was my age, had a bajillion sisters, and went on crazy adventures with some of my favorite characters from my favorite movies and TV shows. The "og's" include the girls from H2O, pretty much everyone from Lord of the Rings, and the people from 24. More recently, I've decided to add in Harry Potter, Supernatural, House of Anubis, and the characters from Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunters books, so keep an eye out for them in season 2. Even though I no longer play in the backyard, I still think this massive story I came up with when I was a fetus is wacky, wild, and extremely creative. So, if you like feeling nostalgic, sit back and enjoy this whopping hunk of fanfiction. :)
