"so justin gets the couch, right?" raegan asked as my dad walked out the door. his mom let out a laugh and shook her head. "justin, we don't have a guest room and i really wouldn't want you on the couch so i was thinking you and raegan can share a room? his room?"
i looked at raegan for his reaction and his jaw clenched as he stared at me, his eyes basically telling me to say no.
i smiled and tilted my head a bit. "i'd love that! but would raegan?" i asked, my voice a bit too chirpy. i knew this would get him mad.

I look up at Todd's window and grimace when I see him gently pushing Jennifer into his room. So that's where he went. My stomach clenches painfully as I watch him pull her in for a slow kiss and I quickly drop to the floor when he suddenly breaks off the kiss and looks directly at me. The last thing I need is for him to think that I'm being a creeper and spying on him. I hold my breath for a few seconds before cautiously peering over the edge of the window, looking into his room. Licking my dry lips, I watch in envy as Jennifer says something to him, making the muscles in his stomach contract and release as he laughed with her. I shake my head. She has no idea how lucky she is. I'd kill to be her right now. I mean, Todd's attitude leaves a lot to be desired, but that doesn't stop him from being the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. It must be the contrast between his dark hair, tanned skin and bright blue eyes. And those muscles. Wow. I suppose his attitude could be fixed. Definitely. It's a little magic trick called duct tape. His baby blue eyes were no longer nervous; they were blazing with a protective rage. He stood nearly as tall as Ace, his own ink-covered arms shaking with a fury that matched the man behind me. Beside him, Nichole was shaking, too, her face a mask of pure terror as she saw the state of me. Their expressions shifted in a heartbeat, their gazes darting behind me. I didn't even have time to see the shadow. A massive, calloused hand clamped onto my waist, hauling me backward off my feet with a violent jerk. Ace didn't even acknowledge the two of them; he just ignored their presence entirely and slammed the heavy steel door shut, the bolt sliding home with a finality that felt like a death sentence. "STOP TRYING TO LEAVE!" Ace screamed, his fingers digging into my arm as he hauled me farther into the dark belly of the locker room. I ripped myself from his grasp with a desperate surge of strength, stumbling back. My chest was heaving, my lungs burning as if the room had run out of oxygen. "Maybe I am trying to find someone to prostitute myself out to! Maybe Cox wants to buy me for a night! He needs someone to cheer him up after his fucking loss!" I lunged at him, shoving his chest with both hands, over and over. He didn't even flinch. It was like trying to push back a mountain of stone and ink. I felt like I was being choked, my breath coming in jagged, shallow hitches while my makeup smeared down my face, mixing with the hot tracks of my tears. I didn't know if I was crying because I was outraged or because I was completely devastated; I just knew I wanted to hurt him.
