Gabriel's mother always reminded him growing up that not everyone are who they seem. As someone destined to become a millionaire at his father's passing, everyone would expect Gabriel to heed this statement as a warning. However, though Gabriel knows to look out for con men, he likes to believe that everyone has a good side to them that nobody sees.

This characteristic of his is what lead him to meeting Naomi one night, a sex worker that spends her daylight hours sitting on the curb in shorts and a crop top, both black, down the street from his father's hotel, with a bottle wrapped in a brown paper bag held tightly between her hands , which she occasionally sips while chatting with her similarly dressed associates.

Little did he know that after their encounter on that one faithful night, both their lives would drastically change forever.
