Humanity was always attracted to stability, even if it was temporary. Even on the dangerous planet Discordia a 1000 years later, inside a dome-shaped force field called the Diome separating them and the dangerous lands outside. Now they face a new threat: overpopulation. Oh, and corruption.

Nix is one of the youths who find themselves looped into The Sonance Tests, an initiative designed by The Councils to expand human territory. Youths are put into test conditions simulating the ravaging, ever-shifting landscape of Discordia, and their objective: find what sense humans can live with or without. Sense, taste, touch, hearing, sight, heat, depth, night vision, pain, the possibilities? Endless.

Will Nix find out the stark reality of The Sonance Tests and The Councils? Will she stray from her dreams of a stable future? Will she recover her missing memories? Will she save her family and friends in time? Will she ever find out what happened to her brother, who was Wasted for unknown reasons? Will the Sonance Tests actually discover a way out for humankind, or will the Diome fall into ruins just like how Earth did a millennium ago?

So many questions, and the answers are right here.

Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. Some fates are worse than death--survival is one of them. In the two hundred years since humanity left the Earth's surface to live in the sky, life on the ground faded to a myth, a tragic memory from which they severed themselves to survive. They floated above continents turned to sand and lands swallowed by the seas, watched storm after storm rage against their cities and their monuments until they broke apart the last vestiges of civilization in penance for generations of human greed. As a lightning harvester charged with flying her ship into these storms for energy, Raina has seen more of the planet than most. She has spent her entire life soaring above its craters and scars, studying the gaping wounds of human devastation, as she honed her skills and became the youngest captain in storm-chaser history. Her ship has flown for generations. Her skills are unparalleled. But none of that matters the day they go down. ~ Praise for Earth, After: "I'm so not ready for this ending. SAMPLE OF BOOK #1 OF THE LOST HORIZON SERIES Hundreds of years ago, the earth experienced a collapse. The surface of the once prosperous planet was reduced to nothing but a desert wasteland. Those few who'd survived the travesty were forced to live in domed cities. In one of these safe havens, Sanctuary as it was named, its people accepted the fact that human life no longer belonged on the Outside World. This simply became a law of reality. However, the entire society is shocked when a human boy is discovered on the other side of Sanctuary's walls. He was named Rex. Possessing no recollection of his past he decides to start life anew. But fragmented images in his mind call for him to leave once more. Rex, along with his adoptive brother, decides to join the Seeker Corps, a group dedicated to surveying the outside in hopes of finding humanity's next home. Survival is key to protecting those who he holds dear and discovering the truth of his mysterious origin. This is a tale of souls seeking to defy a seemingly already decided future. What will they uncover beyond the lost horizon?
