Gwen has lived her whole life jumping from foster home to foster home, from school to school, and from friend to friend around Chicago. The only constant in her life is her best friend Eddy and her younger sister Emelia. Or at least they were.
When her jerk of a boyfriend cheats on her before the school dance, Gwen lets her emotions get the better of her.
She wakes up the next day in a strange world--with strangely stunning people--called Zallair. As she is in this new world she makes new friends and cant help but find her self drawn to the dashing prince Nate. But a dangerous, hidden evil lurks around the corner ready to pounce at any moments. And Zallair turns out to be a place with a very tragic history.

What happens when Gwen's relatively normal life turns out to be a huge lie? How will she return to her home and will she want to? If only they knew she was the key to everything...

Book 1 in a series! Despite what Emrys has been told, her Kingdom Abneer was not the only one to survive, King Reyes is not the only monarch, and monsters are real. Previously a soldier for the King, now betrothed to his son, Prince Roan, Emrys Ortega is starting to feel the burden of the title she never wanted. After repeatedly sneaking out of the palace leads to a sinister threat from the King, Emrys begins to worry for her family's safety. So when she learns that one of her kingdom's soldiers has been kidnapped by the Queen of another Kingdom, Valoria, she sees this as her opportunity to redeem herself in the King's eyes and protect her family. The only problem is that she had no idea the Kingdom of Valoria even existed. In fact, the Kingdom is unlike her own. It's filled with the same monsters from the stories she had been told-monsters of the night.
