In a world where magical creatures and humans intermix, there are two types of magic and two types of people. Dark magic and light magic. Good people and evil people. Our main character is going to learn that your powers do not define who you are as a person. Arion Griffin lives in a society where people with light magic are 'good' and people with dark magic are 'bad'. He comes from a long line of dark magic. Unfortunately, this causes many problems for his social life since his family's reputation precedes him and makes it so no one will talk with him. He is worried it will make his greatest fear come true. He is terrified he is on the path to becoming evil like his parents. Then, one day at school he gets an invitation from Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. Sure he's heard of it, but only in rumors. The school is just for magical creatures to learn more about themselves and their history. It was made over three hundred years ago and still run by a fairy named Cassiopea and her daughter Cassia. Arion is excited to go because his parents refuse to teach him anything about other magical creatures other than dark magic. They believe it is irrelevant for him to know because they think he will take over the world one day. And why should a leader know anything about his subjects? Arion convinces his parents that if he goes to the school he can do recon on the other magical people so he can learn about them and make it easier for him to take over. With no friends, no siblings, and a very negative outlook on life, he heads to Cassiopeia's School for the Gifted. I don't know how long I stayed there, kneeling to the ground and staring at my parents' corpses. Their blood stained most of my body as I rubbed my face trying to get it off. I furrow my eyebrows as I notice the drops of blood on the ground, not knowing if those were from my tears or injuries. The others have managed to distract them enough from hurting me, but I can't seem to get up and leave my parents alone. I hiccup as I look over to where the monsters that killed my parents are standing. My heart drops and my eyes widen as I see a familiar little girl with strawberry blonde hair being restrained. "W-What are you doing?!". I feel the panic settle in again. "LEAVE MY SISTER ALONE!". I whisper a 'no' as someone holds me back and I cry out as I feel the pain shoot up my arm from the strong hold. I try to see through my tears but can't tell who the guy is. I look over to my sister and notice they were holding another boy with us. The guard behind me sighs, and goosebumps run over my arms as he takes me over to what seems their leader before they start whispering. They both nod to each other before they start approaching us. The last thing I remember was the boy yelling "NO!" before darkness took me out.
