Exquisitely Ensanguined

It's incredible how lonely being alone really is.
With his dreams addled with nightmares and his waking hours spent drifting in a big, empty house, Will has never felt so alone. He wonders who, if anyone, could fill the spaces of his vacuous little world, and realizes he has very few people who he could even ask for company.
That is until an unexpected turn of events leaves him with the realization that he's maybe not so alone after all.
(this takes place sometime after season 2, after Will's been released from hospital. Spoilers will be infrequent and mild. This is an AU of sorts, in which Will never goes to Europe.)
