Being a vampire was never easy for Willow. Being surrounded by them because of her sister's affair with one, she saw the vampires as god-like beings, something she could strive to become. She never thought about the bloodlust and hunger she would constantly feel gnawing away at her until she snapped. Horrified at what she has become, she fled, disappearing into the night. After centuries of running, she finally decides to stop. Settling in the quaint town of Mystic Falls, she disguises herself as a typical sixteen-year-old girl.

She quickly becomes accustomed to the small-town life, making friends and going to high school parties and impressing everyone with the large amount of alcohol she can stomach. She gets better at pretending to be human, even being able to look at copious amounts of blood and not react. She slowly carves out her friend group, not disclosing her dark past and the monster she truly was. But when two Salvatore vampires stroll into town and bring the supernatural back to Mystic Falls, Willow will have to fight to hold onto the human life she desires so badly.
