British urban fantasy with a twist - Everybody knows about the existence of the supernatural. That doesn't mean coexistence is easy however. Bradford, West Yorkshire in the decaying post-industrial heartlands of Northern England. Nathan Hale works as a junior investigator at a firm of psychics, which he is the first to admit is nowhere near as exciting as it sounds. Most of the time at least. Needing to pay for urgent repairs to his car, Nathan is working late when he meets James Sinclair. Working as an unofficial liaison between the werewolf community and various legal bodies, James needs help to find a young werewolf, student at Bradford University, who has disappeared. After agreeing to take the case, Nathan soon realises that there is something far more serious going on that a simple teenage runaway. With the official authorities disinterested and the number of those who've disappeared increasing, Nathan, James and Razia Khan, an outreach worker for a local charity, find they are on a race against time to stop a tragedy from occurring. One that could have far reaching consequences for the supernatural community as a whole. Urban fantasy. Very slow burn romance subplot. Present day UK setting with the twist people know about psychics and werewolves. Best rating * #89 in Urban Fantasy*

Briar felt her world crumbling as her father was offered a job in the States, promising double the salary and benefits that would greatly help the family. But none of that changed the fact that Briar would be leaving her life in London behind-her friends, family, and all the memories. Briar was the typical teacher's pet-never had a detention, always turned in homework on time, and never talked back. But that didn't win her any popularity in high school, and now, she dreaded making new friends at a new school. Arden was the complete opposite-having dropped out of high school years ago, she had terrible attendance, was always late, and did sloppy work despite being fairly smart. She never put in the effort and was constantly causing trouble. If she hadn't left on her own, she likely would've been expelled. When their paths cross at a party one night, Briar, who's never had a drop of alcohol or met anyone as reckless as Arden, finds herself thrown into a world she's never known. Arden, with her wild, self-centered attitude, challenges everything Briar thought she knew about life, leaving her conflicted and unsure of what to do next.
