First to wake was Angel, the outsider who learned to hate the world instead of enduring it. Next was Lee, a wannabe actor who ran away from his abusive family to pursue his dreams. Then Vivian, the entitled one who even though had a loving family and supportive friends, felt lonely. Then Lex, the brains of the group who left others in awe of her abilities. She never did believe that she was smart enough. Lastly Axel, the guy who tried so hard to fit into society. Everyone treated him different due to his burn marks on the left side of his face.
They all awake, confuse to where they were and what had become of the night before. Trapped in a mansion with locks on every door and bars on every window, will they be able to get out? Will they learn to befriend each other and learn what there purpose is?

Octaveus was depressed. He knew it, but no one else did. He hid it, just as he hid his scars. He wasn't human either; he hid that too. He hid almost everything about himself from everyone, in order to minimize the ridicule. His mental state, his thoughts, his scars, even his questionable sexuality. But that only fed into his sadness. Drew was insecure. He didn't like standing up for himself in fear of saying something wrong. He didn't even change in the main locker room for PE, he went in the stalls. He was anxious. He wanted to know what was happening and when so that he can prepare for all possible outcomes of that event. And he was gay; his family knew and supported him, but no one else knew. He was too scared of how they would react to tell them. Jessie knew his brother would be teased. It was really a fact. Humanity wasn't too good at accepting of different beings. No matter how human Octaveus made himself look, he couldn't hide his unnaturally pale skin that no matter how hard he tried would not tan or his yellow cat eyes. He just had to try to fit in, same as the rest of their family. Seth was the school bad boy, and secret werewolf. His hobbies included pushing around the Freshman, flirting relentlessly with any and every attractive popular girl in sight, and trying not to think about Octaveus.
