A Walk Between the Raindrops

Melissa Knowles, a 16 year old troubled girl who's been walking on egg shells ever since her father left home when she was 5 years old. Life doesnt progress one bit for Melissa as her childhood goes on. Her mums an alcoholic, she barely attends school because she needs to make sure she doesnt drink herself to her death bed and she doesnt have any friends to rely on for help. She doesnt see the need for them either, after all her mum always knocks her confidence every chance she gets.On Melissa's 16th birthday she comes home to find her mum passed out on the floor beside a bottle of Vodka. This isnt the life any 16 year old would ever dream of. Is this the end of the torture or just the beginning?
