He smiled at the small girl, as she gripped his hand, staring at the water. She shifted all of her wait to her right foot and laid her cheek on his bicep. He kissed her forehead, dusting the hair out of her face.

"I love you," the girl nodded, wrapping her other arm around herself to reach into her pocket. She pulled out two small rings; both embroidered with a phrase.

'What A Catch, Donnie'

"I love you too," she replied, taking the ring and holding one out to him. "Forever?" She asked. Baby blue met with sapphire, and Daniel smiled, taking the ring and slipping it on his finger.

"Forever."

In an alternate universe; you are paired with someone. A soulmate. You never meet that soulmate immediately, though. The youngest soulmates have ever met was 8, but you usually don't meet them until you're a teenager; sometimes an adult.
