What if having the perfect memory, solving any problem with ease, and being hailed as a genius wasn't the blessing everyone thought it was? For Choi Do-Woon, these gifts are nothing more than a curse. Born with an unfailing mind yet trapped in an emotionless existence, his brilliance makes him seem more doll than human-alienating him even from his own family. In a grey world devoid of color or joy, it is only through his two younger siblings that Do-Woon slowly begins to grasp what it feels like to be human. Little by little, he gets to know the subtle emotion called happiness, vowing to always be there for his younger siblings who give a new meaning to his life. But fate deals him a cruel hand when an incurable illness claims his life, leaving him on his deathbed with a heart full of regrets. Following the death of Choi Do-Woon, he soon gets transferred into the world of the once-popular romance novel he last read before his death: Ways of the Mystic. As he opens his eyes, he finds himself residing in the body of the newborn, Lysander Blakesty, one of the future four Grand Dukes of the Izora Empire of the Novel, and one of the three leading villains. In the novel, Lysander gets stabbed in the heart by the prince's sword, for atonement of his crimes. But with his sharp intellect and the knowledge of the past, he now holds the key to rewriting this doomed character's fate. No longer bound by the cold emptiness of his former life, Choi Do-Woon is determined to forge a new path, experiencing the warmth of true emotions for the first time with the people he truly cares about. Blade was the son of Ying's family. The duke, his father, was the head of the military power of the Empire, and it was pretty easy to see a desire for more growing. The Emperor and the Crown Prince, fearing Ying's family would commit treason with all that power they were gaining, decided to give the order to end their legacy, and that's how soon Blade found himself with his whole family dead, bleeding, on the floor of his manor. Blade, in his last breath, prayed for a chance to get his revenge on the Empire, and on the Crown Prince. He did desire to give them a painful death, enjoy, savor every drop of blood coming from their bodies and actually carry out the plan to conquer the Empire. His soul full of madness, hatred and bloodthirst, somehow goes back in time of one year before his family's death sentence. Knowing all the military expeditions and events, Blade slowly plans his revenge and his first goal is to get closer to the Empire's territory. It's when he gets appointed as personal guard to the Crown Prince himself, that he slowly understands how dark and impure the Royal Family is.
