Six hundred and fifty-five years have passed, and everything has been going according to plan in the towns of Caspian and Eulir. Contact between the towns has been minimal, there have been no intrusions, and everyone has long since forgotten the Old World. But humanity decides to take matters into their own hands for the first time after a brutal attack by a deadly black mist. They created a protection service called the Phantom Regiment to ensure their lives could continue as peacefully as it had ever since walls were built around their towns.

Shielding an entire race from extinction by exploring an unknown world isn’t an easy thing to do, though, Division 001 soon discovers. In a territory where every corner could hold a threat, the soldiers struggle with discovering the first part to their recovery plan: uncovering what the inhuman monsters actually are. Will the Phantom Regiment have enough time to unearth the weaknesses of the Shadows before every beating heart is frozen over? Or will an uncontrollable black mist forever plague the human race?
