After being mesmerized and equally baffled by the climax of Baahubali: The Beginning, I eagerly looked forward to  Baahubali:The Conclusion to tie up the loose ends of the story shown in the first part. While 'Why Kattappa killed Baahubali' was answered pretty well, I didn't get to see sufficient screen time for 'How Mahendra Baahubali takes over Mahishmathi.'

Apart from just killing the villain, I wanted the story to address a deeper issue. I wanted the story to deliver Mahabharata's message that standing up for one's own sense of righteousness should be beyond the mental shackles of morals (as in the case of Kattappa who is similar to Bheeshma in Mahabharat), fears (as in the case of Mahishmathi's civilians), etc. Besides this I wanted the story to justify the fact the Bhallaladeva is a trained and highly skilled warrior and Mahendra/Shivudu was no match for him in going for a direct face off. I wanted to see a justifying establishment of each of the main characters, particularly Devasena, whom I wanted to see to rise to the status of a warrior queen.

This is my attempt at addressing  'How Mahendra Baahubali takes over Mahishmathi' with the above-mentioned interests of mine. Hope you enjoy it and do let me know your feedback.All Rights Reserved

Meet the royal couple of Mahishmati, Mahendra Baahubali and Avantika as they navigate and steer through the minefield of enemies, differences, and insecurities that threaten to rip them apart. But as they say, "When one loves with everything they have, all paths lead to the beloved!" Presenting-: King of Hearts and Queen of Swords. Disclaimer: This is an imaginary fanfiction story based on the characters of Mahendra Baahubali and Avantika from S. S. Rajamouli Sir's magnum opus movie franchise, Baahubali. It has been written upon the request of one of my readers @jaanu612. The characters do not belong to me neither do I make any money or profit out of this endeavor. This story deals with how Mahendra Baahubali and Avantika get married after the events portrayed in Baahubali 2. I didn't get the chance to explore this avenue in my other fanfiction story, Shatru Sesham: Sequel of Baahubali, because that story was about the children of Mahendra Baahubali and Avantika. But it has always been at the back of my mind. So, I am excited to be writing this story about them. It won't be long like Shatru Sesham. It will have about 9 chapters.

This is the first story of my Mahabharata series that I tried to pen down at my own childhood. I am truly fascinated by her life long struggle for independence and avenging her insult by her own husband. This is my own original story that I never published anywhere else. The motivation for this story were Mahabharat and other manuscripts on Chitrangada. I take most scenes from the popular television serial "Mahabharata Katha"of Mr. B. R. Chopra. However the screenplay is truly mine. My language is mostly Hindi whose English version was written beside it. Pictures were taken from public domains.
