Long ago, the tale we know of queens Arsinoe, Mirabella, and Katharine, has a different ending. Katharine becomes queen and executes her sisters, and somehow or other, bears the triplets.
Things are as they always are. Except that after Queen Katharine's long, horrible reign is over, decades more of queens begin to take on her battle. They drag suitors, citizens, priestesses, and Black Council members into their quarrels, and they all end up dead. War queens come back to power.
And after a while, the citizens grow tired of it. They don't dare rise up against the queen.
But a secret society, a group who's more tired of it then the rest and call themselves the One Queen Union, have a wish to form just that union-- one queen. Bears one child. No battles. No deaths. And no getting caught by that year's queens until the time is right. Until they can find someone smart enough, strong enough, and capable enough to take down three queens and become the ruler of the land to form the One Queen Union. There will be no more dark queens. There will be a new era brought to Fennbirn.
