The Scientists created a serum that makes subjects faster, stronger, heightens all of their senses. Most of The Trials have been successful. The serum was only tested on rats, moles, and horses. Soon, the Scientists became hungry for fame and injected human subjects. It seemed like some sort of Sci-Fi novel, a damaged society rising from the dead with actual super humans. Everyone rejoiced, happy that the human race was being mended of past mistakes. At least, that's what everyone thought. Now, half of the world's population is dead, cities decimated, and a plague running rapidly throughout the surviving human inhabitants of a broken world. How will we survive this?

When twins Skylar and Jake were born, their scientist parents used them as an experiment. Each was injected with a dose of serum that would supposedly make them much stronger, smarter, simply better than other kids. But somebody added a chemical that changed the effects of the serum. As a result each twin got only half of the traits they were originally supposed to get. Skylar got the strength and speed while Jake got the brains. When they realized what had happened, the twins' parents immediately put them up for adoption, so neither one knew of the other. 12 years later Skylar is constantly failing all her classes, and Jake is getting bullied because he is so much weaker than other kids. But then Skylar's adoptive family decides to move across the country to find a new school for their daughter, which happens to be the school Jake goes to. They meet completely by accident. In the meantime, their parents have found a way to fix their mistake from 12 years ago -- they can make one of the twins perfect. But it requires for the other twin to give their life.
