Nora is crippled by anxiety that lurks beneath a Good Girl shell. Lucas is drowning under the weight of his rage and depression. They've been best friends since they were babies living on the same suburban street and have never needed anything but each other, until they find a new method of escape.

Gus is a poly-addict whose drug of choice is meth. He's been living on LA's infamous Skid Row for months. Being on his own is nothing new, and he's survived for years on the streets of Chicago and LA, trying to avoid being put back into foster care. But the system eventually catches up to him. When he meets Lucas and Nora at a court ordered rehab center for teens, he begins to question whether or not sobriety is possible for him... if it means confronting his past.

This story was inspired by the heroin epidemic in suburban America.

I lost someone dear to me in the midst of the Heroin Epidemic hitting MA in the last 3 years that spurred me to write The A Team. It is a reference to Ed Sheeran's song. This story was my grieving process. Without it, I'd be in a maelstrom of emotions that I wouldn't know what to do with. Also, my favorite band, Fall Out Boy, has a physical copy of this story. I gave it to them this past summer at a Meet & Greet in Mansfield, MA for the Boys of Zummer tour. I'd probably bawl my eyes out if I ever hear that they read it, but I don't want to hold out too much hope. They are my second form of coping with anything, and their music gave me the drive to even write the novella. Here's the description: What does it mean to truly learn to love your life again? Rebellious, yet exceptionally intelligent, Eugenia "Janie" Cole, asks herself this every day. Its hard to do such a thing when life deals you a bad deck of cards. Addicted to pain killer, kicked out of her only home for abusing and stealing said pain killers, becoming homeless, and befriending a punk chick by the name of Nina Monroe; a music scene junkie who seems to be just as messed up as her. In the hidden back drop of Boston, Massachusetts, Janie goes in search of her spirituality through parties, drugs, and that one beautiful moment that will explain to her why darkness follows in her footsteps. Will she find it all on her own before her past comes back to haunt her?

This Young Adult novel is about the lives of teen brothers who must deal with a decision that changes the course of their lives and shatters their family connection. The twin brothers must learn to unearth hurt, secrets, and misunderstandings to start their family's healing process. "...there were a lot of things I was forced to learn and that made me resent my family for it. One of them is the fact that I learned more about family at rehab than I ever did when I was home." - Lincoln "I always had this plan. A plan where I would graduate high school with the highest GPA, get a full-ride baseball scholarship to Stanford University, and then work my way to the major league baseball teams. It was a plan I had made with Lincoln when we were younger. A dream we shared to play baseball together. A dream that died when he overdosed." - Liam
