Blood Affinity

The only two things in the world that fill the otherwise empty life Actaeon now calls his own. Gone is the timid owner of the bookstore, friend to Lorelei and Pylades. In his place is a merciless Fallen killer for the Zettseni, who trades life for the drug Nirvana. The same drug that gifted him his ability to manipulate blood. The same drug that will one day claim his life, only after ruining it through an incurable dependence.

The same way it is now ruining Lorelei's life. Though Pylades claims that Actaeon has all but damned Lorelei, Actaeon is determined to right the sins of his past.

Yet even after accepting a high-paying contract to kill three thieves, he begins to question if his motivation is nothing more than self-delusion. Perhaps it would be better to end the eternal cycle of death and drugs that now define his life. Yet the only way for a Fallen to ever truly be free of Nirvana is to accept death's cold, quiet embrace.
