Lucy Mendel was the quiet one.
An average looking sophomore girl with dark brown eyes and long chestnut hair.
Always helping others. With their homework. With relationships. With jobs.
At school her life was perfect.
A nice best friend who understood her. Teachers who thought the world of her. Medals and trophy's that mattered.
But at home it was a whole different story. Parents divorcing. Living in a two bedroom with four people. And not seeing her brother half the time. As well as the bruises and cuts that keep reappearing on her body whenever she visits her aunt.
This isn't a story about love and happiness and forgiving those who did you wrong.
It's about the girl that never really wanted this, but got it anyway.

He had rules for a reason, or thats what he said. I did something wrong I got punished. I spoke out of turn, I got punished. I looked at him or ate without permission, I got punished.
