What happens when your best friend also happens to be your mortal enemy?

Ryland Jones is a senior at Lakeville High school, and also happens to be the saviour of the city. Fighting crime and homework has always been the norm, but when a new villain shows up, his world is turned upside down.

Andrew Shields is Ryland's best friend and Lakeville high's best student. Despite his success in school, after certain circumstances occur, he's forced to bring his city down. The only problem is that city's only hero is in his way.

Ever since the twins' dad left when they were seven, Kizuato has been more reserved and less willing to trust people. He hates people who bully others for things that can't be changed- such as sexual orientation or race- especially after having experienced it himself for being asexual/aromantic. Instead, the two of them keep each other company, and their friendship very quickly escalates into a romantic and intimate relationship. Despite having Mikayla, Jay's troubles continue to burden him. He and Mikayla are fighting habitually, his home life is still unbearable, and his time at school is hardly any better, made worse by a bully named Calvin. Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal. One confrontation in particular goes much too far, resulting in Jay's expulsion from school. With everything seemingly piling up, Jay is very close to his breaking point, and late one night he is blindsided by the unthinkable, pushing him much too far and effectively planting in his mind a cruel and horrific plan for revenge.
