Hi lovelies, this is for my genre writing assessment and would love to know what you think of it! It's got monsters, cyborgs, the matriarchy, bloody battles and haunted houses!
It's the year 2099, and since the acceptance of AI as humanity's best option in surviving the earth's ever changing climate, the mechanical has officially melded with human flesh.
Elvira, a sixteen year old scrapper from the Dirt, who, along with her cyborg kind-of-best-friend, Jasha, are recruited by The Duchess. The benevolent, AI-mistress of the Metropolis who requires something in the ruins of a place long forgotten in the old world. A relic of some kind which Elvira can never know about. Her only task is to retrieve it, bring it to The Duchess and earn herself some worthy coin. Maybe enough to make it out of this hell-hole.
But the ruins of the old world aren't as abandoned as they first thought. Illusion and danger lurk behind every corner and no amount of AI infused technology is going to help them succeed-or stay alive.

It is a stark warning, not only for men but for all who value the delicate equilibrium that defines humanity.

After enduring weeks of violent attacks, psychological torture and trauma, Poem decides enough is enough and the group follow her lead in an attempt to escape.
