Set end of season 3 as if Ian hadn't run off to join the army. Ian hurt so bad after the wedding. He felt like his heart had physically broken and there was a constant pain in his chest. Of course he knew that Mickey probably had to do that to stop his dad from killing him but still... He started to think about all the weird little mannerisms he had picked up recently and God did he hope that he was wrong about what it was. He couldn't sleep that night as he decided what he was going to do. If he did have... bipolar, if he did then he didn't want to be like Monica ever.

Ian and Mickey have a casual sex relationship. Officially. Between having sleepovers at 'their place' and making bets who will give in first and finally kiss the other they're suddenly finding themselves in a mess of feelings and emotions. When Ian finally builds up the courage to tell Mickey how he feels Mickey is forced to deal with his own feelings and his fear - because if there is something Mickey fears more than anything else, even more than his father finding out about his sexuality, it's becoming his father and hurting Ian the way Terry used to hurt his mother. This fic will take you through a lot of stages of a turbulent relationship over a few years. * just changed the title from "Beauty and the Beast" to Casual Sabotage*
