In a world where everybody has a soulmate, Evan and Connor find themselves  locked into a world with no vibrant colors that bring joy to the ones around them. They're both considering the fact that they'll never meet there soulmate and never get to experience the joy of color, and live their lives in monotone. They begin their final year of high school thinking that nothing ever is going to change, until they suddenly see color that is blinding. The only problem is that they can't remember the person that they happened to bump into to cause this outburst of color.

TRIGGER WARNING: Suicide Attempt, Self-Harm, Anxiety, Panic Attack, Bipolar Disorder, etc. Connor Murphy was always scared of himself, so to make up for it he tried to make everyone else too. Evan Hansen was always nervous, and wouldn't stop freaking out over the smallest things. When these two characters lives collide, literally, how will their company change the other? Can each character save themselves and the other? Note: This is an AU, in the musical version Connor is not good friends with Evan while in this version he is (due to the events that transpired in this fanfiction), so while I ship treebros in the AU context this is not the original musical, you can make your own opinion after watching the original. It usually appears for the first time when a person is 5-8 years old, and for 8 year old Evan Hansen, today was that day. this is basically just a sincerely three red soulmate AU because I needed it in my life.

Evan always tried to hide his flowers. It was pointless, almost everyone had them, but their flowers were bright yellows and pinks that made them look like walking flower bouquets. His were dark colors - blacks, reds, browns, and purples - that made him look morbid and intimidating. And his flowers stood for the worst things too. While Jared was covered in bright pink flowers that meant heartbreak, Evan had a huge, red, zinnia on the back of his neck that meant depression, dark purple irises on his arms, legs, and face that meant bruises, and black flowers lining his wrists meaning self harm. There were almost 47 black flowers. He hated it, being marked as the kid who was supposed to fall in love with a depressed psychopath. It didn't help that his anxiety would spike at the worst possible times, causing him to trip and stutter at the worst times. • Connor didn't choose to be born with depression, a feeling that started at the back of his neck and just seemed to grow. He didn't choose to be covered in burns and bruises from his abusive father, and he didn't choose to have a bright blue flower on the palm of his hand that symbolized anxiety. He wanted to end it all - the pain, the humiliation, the fucking flower that would grow at the worst possible times. He hated how everything that happened to him would affect his soulmate. Only he deserved to feel that pain.
