There are things... Things I can not explain. Things you couldn't understand, things that I even I don't understand. I would tell you that everything is going to be fine. But if I did, I know I would be lying. I'm Brianna Rowe. I'm 14 years old and I'm unsure whether what I am going through is reality or just some sort of illusion. My city is cursed, and everyone is affected except me. Who did this? I'm not sure, but i'm going to find out.

I thought I was normal. That's what I was always led to believe anyways. But then one day a portal opened up in my closet and someone yanked me onto the other side. In Shadows of Night
I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed. Save Me
I was drowning. I knew that. I also knew that the hands around my throat, pushing me deeper into the river water was the cause. What I didn't know was who was drowning me and why. It hurt thinking. It hurt to do anything right now. But I still screamed under the cold water and pushed the hands away as hard as I could. It didn't have much effect. I fought and fought, but I was getting weaker, and colder. The pain was overbearing. I couldn't breathe. It was the worst pain imaginable; and as the hands that were around my neck were forcibly ripped off by some unknown force, I slipped deeper into the depths of the river. My hair was straight above me along with my arms. My eyes were open and the water burned. A darkness started to pull me under, taking the pain away. I felt a small pressure around my waist, before the darkness completely consumed me. The last thing I remember is thinking, save me.Complete

She....I....... I was running through the thick branches, pushing the leaves out of my way with all my might. I had to get away. The wet, brown, ground made it easier for me to slip and let her red, chilling hands slip around my innocent, scarred body, not knowing where she would take me next. I was almost out of breath, but I had to keep running if I wanted to make it out of this forest alive. My red dress was getting torn to shreds, and my hands and feet had mud all over them. My long, bushy brown hair was getting hooked on every possible branch, making me push my hair in the back of my dress, just like I used to when I was forced to cook everyday for my loathsome 'parents'. Returning back to the real world, I had to stop otherwise I would black out. I took a few seconds to catch my breath silently, and to look around to see if she was there behind me. I was looking up at the tall, old tree when I heard a twig snap behind me. Just like in the horror films. I turned and ran in the same direction, not daring to look back and see her wretched face fixed on my body. I sprinted and sprinted, but slowed down when I saw I was heading to nowhere but a ragged cliff. The unknown would me known if I continued to run and jump. I stopped two metres away from the cliff and looked down to see a valley so far down. If I jump..... I die. If I let her take me..... the unfair horribleness awaits me. I had no choice. His presence was doing something to me! Everywhere was suddenly so quiet. Where is everyone?! Few seconds later, his face was inches away from mine, I just hope it wasn't what I was thinking. Every foward motion he took, I equally took a step backwards till I felt my back hit against one of the lockers. I could have pulled out. I could have pushed him away. I could have walked away. I could have hit him or slapped him away from me. But I did nothing... My body felt numb. The only thing I could feel were the weird sensation inside me. We were a breathe apart.
