Sprucepaw, daughter of Prince Lionwing, isn't quite sure what she thinks of the rumored talk of a coming revolution.

She knows, exceptionally well, that a revolution wouldn't go well for anyone with royal blood pumping through their veins, even her, daughter of a prince and fifteenth in line for the throne. Truthfully, despite the fact of her royal heritage, Sprucepaw isn't sure she wants to be-- with all the drama and mistrust and betrayals. Especially after a drink is poisoned, a prince falls sick and a plot is unravelled.

In the face of what may be the ultimate question, Sprucepaw must make a choice: Will she stand with the family that raised her - embracing both tradition and  the lethal toxicity of the ruling class, threatening to swallow her whole? Or, will she break away from the crown and throw herself into the unfamiliar arms of change?

For her, everything seems to go wrong. Every plan, every schedule, every patrol - ends up in a disaster, and its always because of her. But when the evil shakes up her life and splits her soul, she may find enough courage to make everything right again. ~~~~~ I hope you enjoy this book. She loves her clanmates dearly, but the clan deputy seems to watch their every move, just waiting for any cat to slip up. But it's the clan she was raised in. So, she should be loyal to them, right? Keenkit always figured he and his littermates were normal kits who would all become apprentices and be able to train together. But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either. Pounceheart is always treating him like some helpless kit and he worries he'll never be able to complete his warrior assessment. Being a healer who suffers from severe anxiety isn't easy, but Twitchpaw knows as long as her mentor is there, she can get through it. But as tensions rise between FlameClan and CliffClan, she's worried about the future ahead of them.
