"KEITH!" Lance hugs him tight, sobbing uncontrollably. Keith pushes away for a second.

"Did we win?" Lance laughs a little.

"Of course we did, mullet." Keith smiles, wiping the tears from Lance's eyes, keeping his hands on his cheeks.

"Lance I-" His eyelids start to flutter.

Lance's arms were around him quick, pulling him close and lifting him up. Keith saw Lance spin him around but he couldn't feel it. He was numb. He felt like he was watching it happen from someone else's point of view. He saw how deep Lance's eyes were and how wide his smile was. Keith ran his hands through Lance's hair, trying to capture this moment forever. He couldn't stop the laugh that bubbled out of him. He was so happy, and felt so warm and numb. The moment was surreal, just him and Lance. ... Keith and Lance have been "friends" since high school, but everyone sees them more as rivals. They can't stand to be around each other, but when their jobs bring them closer together, Keith sees Lance in a different way and Lance starts feelings things other than anger. {Cover done by my wonderful friend Avie, @damnallgoodnamesgone check out her work!}

Keith was in and out of the hospital for all of his life. He often snuck out of his room to wander the halls in an attempt to stifle his boredom. When he was ten years old, he found a boy in a coma-and he happened to be around his age. He would often talk to him about his day and bring him toys. But one day, the boy was gone without a trace. Lance was nine years old when he was in a major car accident. His injuries were extensive and he was put into a medically-induced coma. When he woke up, he recovered fully and returned home. Seven years later, he suddenly remembers a certain voice that spoke to him while he was under. "Lance..?" Keith called out, "Lance?'" Keith called out again. Keith's eyes landed on a shadowed body on the ground, some kind of pink liquid of a pool it was laying on, Keith walked closer to see Lance, and that liquid was red and blood. Keith began to cry when the thing knocked him out cold. Keith's eyes shot wide open, to see himself in his bed. Sighing in relief.

You left me when I needed you the most!!" There was no more land behind him, but he didn't know that. He continued his steps. Keith panicked more. "Lance, stop don't ta-" "Stop what!?! Telling you the truth!?!? I won't because you need to hea-" "Lance, seriously-" "-r it!!! Keith, if you care about me, if you ever cared about me... The prove it. You won't you little bi-" The floor crumbled beneath him. He fell backwards, eyed wide, tears falling, he reached out. "Lance!!!" A hand took his own.

I'm warning, I wrote this when I was 16 with no experience with reading or writing so it lacks quite a bit lol. I think I took the idea of one shots a little too seriously. I'm currently going over and editing bits, it may take a while as I'm so cringed out. I also may delete one shots I feel are...crap lol. I started thinking up a plan quickly, desperate to keep Keith and myself out of trouble. "Keith, I have an idea." I spun around toward him only to find he was missing from the bed, "Keith?" I looked up at the back window to see Keith fully clothed ready to escape. Keith's eyes glistened with sorrow and guilt as he hopped out, scampering away. My heart shattered all in one instant, "Keith..."

"I love you." He stammered, voice breaking between sobs. "I love you, Keith. So much." Keith's heart skipped a beat, or maybe blatantly stopped. He couldn't believe Lance had just said that -he pondered on the possibility of having misheard him- but his voice had sounded so honest and so painfully hurt, he knew there was no way Lance's words weren't true. The honesty dripping from his drunk-stained words left Keith breathless. He never thought he'd live to hear those words coming from Lance, he was certain he would never love him back, he thought he liked Kinkade, as much as it pissed him off the idea. But Lance was sitting next to him, in a desolated hallway in the middle of the night, as if they were just idle teenagers, his big ocean eyes looking at him with fear and so much pain, and he felt like the world had just stopped for them.

But Keith comes back more Galra than human. -- ** A moment of silence passes by before Keith opens his mouth to address him, "Are you afraid?" Canines glint between his lips as Lance watches his mouth form words.<br /> His brows crease together as he realizes the meaning behind that question. No, he's definitely not afraid of Keith. Instead of voicing an answer, he wraps his arms around the sturdy neck to pull his head down and meet his lips in a kiss that will hopefully convey his feelings. ** -- cover isn't mine
