Braxton emerged from the shadows, across the room from where Nicolas and Jan stood. Jan sunk into the floor. "Don't open the door, Nicola," Braxton said.
Nicolas looked over his shoulder at the vampire, "Why not?"
Braxton shrugged, "The same reason why Buster is the way he is."
"I thought that was because he was controlled by that Shadowkin. Jeryyko?"
"Jakkal," Brax nodded, walking up to Nicolas, "He's in there. Sort of."
"Sort of?" Nicolas looked at Brax quizzically, "What do you mean?"
"Most of Jakkal's essance is inside that room. The rest he needs to manifest is out here. Open the door, you have an evil Shadowkin to kill."
"I've killed numerous." He unsheathed his dagger. "I can do this."
Brax shook his head, "It's not time."
Nicolas sighed. "Then when is time?"
"When you're ready."
Nicolas nodded to himself, chuckling, "And when will that be?"
Braxton shrugged, "Only time will tell, Nicola. Only time will tell."

Annabeth had continued to visit him every year near Christmas, unlike her sister, so she and her dad had a bond. Annabeth was different from her sister, she wasn't as awkward and clumsy. She was strong-willed and charismatic. She had a few friends at Forks High School, so when they finally went to school, it wasn't as awkward for her as it was for her little sister. As Bella got wrapped up in the Cullen family, Anna stayed away from them. The family tried to include her, because Alice knew that Anna had a mate, but Anna just wasn't one to encourage such fantasies as Bella was. It was Bella that told her about vampires, and that was when Anna's world changed forever. Hidden in the shadows was a blonde vampire. He wasn't like the Cullens, meaning he wasn't a "vegetarian." He killed for his food, but he also simply liked the fight that everyone put up before they died. It was fun, but when he entered Forks, something was different. There was a scent he just couldn't shake, and Victoria could tell that something was up with him. He asked, sliding his hand down from her ribs to the bottom of her shorts then around to her butt, fingers nearly grazing it as he inched them up, under her pajamas. "I can say with certainty, never here," he said, lowering his other hand under the waistband of her shorts, touching the top of her underwear. "No, you've definitely never felt that before. I can hear your heart racing, I can feel your breathing, I can smell your body responding like it's never experienced these sensations before," he whispered, sliding a finger just underneath the band. 'What did i just get myself into?' I think to myself and sip my hot coco. I look out over the land and see a figure in the distance and i try to get a good look at it but it's too far to see. I blink and it's gone. I look around to see if i can see it again and it's right below the balcony. 'WHAT THE F**K IS THAT?!!!'
